POLITICIANS' NAMES REMOVED

13 August 2010--DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo issued a circular prohibiting the use of the names and images of a public official, including his and the President, on billboards and signages of DILG programs, including vehicles.
This is in keeping with the Presidential directive that clarifies before Filipinos that the money used in these projects came from their taxes and not beneficies coming from politicians. 10 August 2010, Tuesday---DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson started imposing a ban on the practice of putting the names or pictures of politicians on signboards of DPWH infrastructure projects nationwide. Thereafter, all that can be seen in DPWH signboards will be the name of teh project and locatoin, contractor, the date when it started, and when it got completed. Oppositions: 16 August 2010, Monday---Representatives from the minority bloc insist they will place their photos in project that used their pork barrel, even if they have to pay the billboard cost.
