P17 BILLION EXCESS FUNDS PULLED OUT

02 August 2010---DPWH Secretary Rogelio Singson has returned to the Department of Budget and Management about P17 billion worth of excess funds from some projects that had been unnecessary. The itemes received the appropriation but not yet contracted or "obligated" for execution. No case filed for these misappropriates caught off-hand before taking on contract or payment execution.
